On July 4th, over 55,000 participants gathered near Lenox Square in Atlanta, Georgia to take part in what has become a city-wide tradition. The Peachtree Road Race, put on by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, was, until recently, the largest 10K race in the world, with 55,000 runners. Naturally, the sunny heat didn’t stop over 150,000 fans from packing the sidewalks for the 6.2 miles from start to finish and cheering on the participants.
