Free Ribs to the First 100 Customers on May 18, 2013

ATLANTA (April 2, 2013) – For the fourth year, Shane’s Rib Shack will celebrate May, the official month of barbecue, by giving away a free half rack of our slow-smoked baby back ribs, a 20 ounce beverage, plus a special edition Rib Giveaway t-shirt (size XL) to the first 100 guests to arrive at all participating Shane’s Rib Shack locations on Saturday, May 18, 2013. 

“It’s impossible to imagine not rewarding our guests with this once a year free rib offer,” says Shane Thompson, president and founder of Shane’s Rib Shack. “For the fourth year, Shane’s Rib Shack will honor its loyal following with a well-deserved free half rack of our signature baby back ribs. I can’t think of a better way to thank our loyal guests while, at the same time, celebrating National Barbecue Month.”

In addition, throughout the month of May, Shane will be showing up around Metro Atlanta delivering racks of ribs to unsuspecting folks. - Shane's Rib Shack, the leader in fast casual BBQ, has opened its newest location in Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world's busiest airport. Shane's opened on February 9, 2013 in the Atrium, the heart of the airport situated between the North and South terminals. Operated by Global Concessions, Inc., the location offers popular selections from the Shane's menu plus hot breakfast options.

"Shane's Rib Shack may be a national name, but it has never lost its roots as a small restaurant that started just south of Atlanta over 11 years ago," said Shane Thompson , president and founder of Shane's Rib Shack. WITH ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY 

ATLANTA (August 10, 2012) –  Shane’s Rib Shack and Atlanta Motor Speedway, are proud to announce that the four finalists to compete in the “Ultimate Shaniac BBQ Eating Contest” have been determined.  The contest is slated to take place at the Atlanta Motor Speedway Fan Stage on September 1, 2012 at 5PM EST during the Advocare 500, NASCAR Cup Series Race Weekend.   • Darryl “BBQ Extraordinaire” Nelson’s love of BBQ began over 40 years ago and he intends on using his BBQ “addiction” to win the title of “Ultimate Shaniac”
  • Frank “The Tank” Wickstead is a competitive eater and a BBQ connoisseur who is out to bring on the heat and win the title of “Ultimate Shaniac.”
  • Patrick “Pit Master” Dogan is a certified Memphis in May BBQ judge. He is confident that he will be the “Ultimate Shaniac” because he rarely meets a contender who can eat faster than he can.

FOR THE GEORGIA TRANSPLANT FOUNDATION 
FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

 

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA (July 26, 2012) –  Today, Shane’s Rib Shack presents a check for over $10,000 to the Georgia Transplant Foundation at the Shane’s Rib Shack Flowery Branch location. For the third consecutive year, Shane’s Rib Shack has partnered with The Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF), to help raise money to support transplant recipients and donors throughout the Nation.  Participating Shane’s Rib Shack locations raise money by donating $0.10 per drink sold in April and May to The Georgia Transplant Foundation to support their cause.

The Georgia Transplant Foundation, founded in 1992, provides financial, educational, and emotional support to transplant candidates, recipients, living donors, and their families throughout the state of Georgia.  However, while the majority of their efforts are based in Atlanta, the foundation is able to reach out to those in need outside of Georgia, as long as one party– the recipient or donor - is a Georgia resident.     

In three years, Shane’s Rib Shack is proud to have raised over $30,000 for the Georgia Transplant Foundation and plan to continue their support for years to come. Atlanta, GA – The 2012 Scovie Awards judging panel of top culinary experts honored Shane’s Rib Shack with a first place award in the Full Product Submissions Contest for their website. Their winning product was applauded for its outstanding design.

Competition was particularly fierce for the 2012 awards, with product entries up 177 over 2011. In all, 161 companies entered 792 products for a chance at Scovie glory. Dave DeWitt, founder of the Scovie Awards and National Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show said entries came from 38 states and four countries including Australia, Sweden, Canada and the United States.

DeWitt, the “Pope of Peppers,” was pleased with the variety and quality of the entries. “It’s thrilling to see more entries than ever in our sixteenth year of the Scovie Awards. I’m always impressed by the creative new ideas and delicious ways people showcase fiery foods,” DeWitt said.

Local owners Ed and Laura Patzsch would like to honor our service men and women this Armed Forces Day by collecting donations that support those who have been wounded in service.
