SHANE’S RIB SHACK ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING OF RICHMOND, VA LOCATION

RICHMOND, VA (June 7, 2013) - Shane's Rib Shack, a leader in fast-casual barbecue, will open its third Virginia location, and 68th restaurant nationwide, on June 10 in Midlothian, VA.  The new restaurant should create more than 30 new jobs for the area.  The grand opening celebration will take place the entire weekend of June 14–16.

To celebrate the opening, Shane's will offer thousands of dollars in giveaways.  The first 100 customers in line on Friday, June 14, will receive a free Half Rack of Baby Back Ribs.  The first 100 customers in line on Saturday, June 15, will receive a free drink and Shane's signature sandwich, the "Big Dad®," a half pound of slow smoked, hand chopped barbecue pork named after Shane's grandfather.  Plus, the first 25 will win free "Big Dad®" pork sandwiches for an entire year.  On Sunday, June 16, the first 100 customers will receive 3 hand-breaded chicken tenders and fries - the perfect Father's Day present.   

Shane's will also host a live radio remote broadcast during the weekend.  Everyone who enters one of the many free raffles during the weekend will be eligible for any of the grand prizes: a ride in a pace car at Richmond International Raceway, a free catering for 25 people, or their very own Big Green Egg - the backyard grill that every barbecue customer would love to have! 

Shane's will dotate a large portion of the weekend's proceeds to PACKids, an organization dedicated to building a freestanding, consolidated children's hospital in the Richmond area. More than 250 pediatricians have given their support to PACKids and its vision for a children's hospital system totally dedicated and exclusively committed to the care of the region's children. These pediatricians agree that consolidating all the best pediatric specialists in the area under one unified roof is the best way to provide the best care for our kids.  Stop by Shane's Rib Shack to learn more about PACKid's at their booth during the grand opening weekend.

Congratulations to our Douglasville’s Shane’s Rib Shack for being awarded “Best New Restaurant” and “Most Sold” at the 20^th annual Taste of Douglasville 2013 event!  Over 14,000 people gathered in historic downtown Douglasville to celebrate the community’s love for food and entertainment.  With sixteen participating restaurants, the people of Douglas County were able to ignite their taste buds by trying all different styles of food.  After tallying the votes, the delicious BBQ of Shane’s Rib Shack made the best impact and the outstanding awards speak for themselves! Way to go Douglasville Shane’s!  

On Friday, May 10^th, the McDonough Chamber of Commerce held it’s 6^th annual Spring fundraising event, called “Belles, Bulls & Buck$” in efforts to raise funds for the Chamber and enjoy fellowship within the community.  Being that our Original Shane’s Rib Shack is planted in McDonough, Shane’s was thrilled for the opportunity to help serve refreshments at this community-centered event.  Along with Shane’s refreshments, guests enjoyed live entertainment, a mechanical bull ride, and chance to win a $5,000 raffle…

In preparation for our 4^th annual Rib Giveaway, our corporate team decided to do some of their own marketing!  In the wee hours of Thursday morning, Shane’s corporate crew delivered THIRTY full racks of our mouth-watering baby back ribs to radio stations all across the metro Atlanta area.  Our team and pans of ribs were asked to join in on the radio fun by receiving an inside look to the recording rooms of Rock 100.5 The Regular Guys, 680 The Fan, and Kicks 101.5.  So, were the ribs a hit?  Let’s just say, the radio jockeys found a way to talk live and eat our ribs all at the same time.  Now, that’s talent!  Talking about talent, even Grammy award-winning Neyo will pose for a Shane’s Rib Shack picture!

Recently, our Boca Raton & Royal Palm Beach locations were pleasantly surprised when they received a phone call from the popular 940 WINZ radio station.  Without even knowing, a representative from the station had been one of their customers earlier in the week. The representative was so pleased with Shane’s customer service and delicious baby back ribs that he felt it was a must to have this “Shane’s Rib Shack” featured on his station so the entire community could know of this great BBQ spot!  One thing led to the next, and before you knew it our owners and employees were spending airtime with the jockeys promoting the amazing Shane’s BBQ we all know and love. While there, Shane’s provided the station with plenty of fall off the bone ribs and wings to show their appreciation.
